     Gyulyara Meliki is an Azerbaijani filmmaker based in London, celebrated for her bold storytelling and compelling cinematic vision.  
 
     Gyulyara graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Television and Radio Department in 2013, an Advertising Academy Wordshop in 2014 and completed her Master Degree in Film Directing at the Met Film School in London in 2017, and has earned multiple accolades across her career.
 
     Her journey began in 2011 with "Gone Hopes", a heartfelt amateur short film that she co-wrote, co-directed, acted in, and edited. The film garnered over 1 million views on YouTube within weeks, establishing her as a talent to watch. 
 
     With her second independent short film “October, 20” Gyulyara later won "Best Director" at the “Moscow Zoom” 24-hour film competition. Following on from this, Gyulyara released a documentary film, “Online means I exist", in 2013 and a fiction short, “Confession", in 2014.
 
     Her first professional short film "Trust Me" (2017) dedicated to the victims of the Paris terror attacks, demostrated her ability to tackle deeply emotional themes with sensitivity and nuance. The film was screened at festivals in London, Sydney, and Moscow, earning a nomination for the "Best Director" at the "British Independent Film Festival" (2017) alongside feature film directors and winning "Best Director" at "Cinegate Aurora Film Awards" (2018).
 
     In 2020, her thriller “Escort" (2019) gained international recognition with over 10 festival selections around the world, including nomination “Best Director” at the Unrestricted View Film Festival (2020) and “Best Horror Film'' Award at the Russian International Horror Film Awards. The film has also qualified for BAFTA entry.
 
     Currently, Gyulyara is developing her debut feature film, "The Catwalk". Balancing the demands of filmmaking and motherhood, Gyulyara has veen crafting this compelling screenplay while raising her two young daughters since 2021.
